Yung Nadim’s Game

Music by Zero The Memory Thief

Mural

Goli (also known as guli or kelereng) is a traditional kampong game played using marbles. Each player uses their marbles to displace other players' marbles in an attempt to claim them. The artists imagine this to be the favourite game of a fictional folklore hero Yung Nadim. In his signature playful composition, Has.J portrays the skill and accuracy required to own the game, paying tribute to young bravery.

Music

Drawing from the bravado of Yung Nadim (a character inspired by legend Hang Nadim), Zero The Memory Thief creates an emotive lo-fi beats-heavy soundscape that underscores the journey of children in their game conquests.

Has.J

As a former skater, it was a natural progression for Has.J to start dabbling in the art form. Has.J is best known for his funky, experimental and illustrative typography. His most recent work marries his skill as a photographer and experience as a graffiti artist, exhibiting an interplay of organic and geometric shapes to draw attention to the composition of the foreground and background of his pieces.

Zero The Memory Thief

Part of the infamous Crazy88 and the XS collective, Yushlimi Saini aka Zero The Memory Thief designs beat-riddled soundscapes for listeners to tread upon. His works are extensions of himself, posing invitations to explore the synth-heavy, bass-driven and glitch-laden pieces. Zero The Memory Thief ultimately hopes to transcend the aural and physical barrier to reside in his listeners’ hearts and minds through music.
