A community art mural

Set in the greenery of Bedok Community Park, behind Blk 15 Bedok South Road, Drummers’ Delight welcomes abstract expressions and vibrant colours rollin' into the neighbourhood.

The artworks were based on the community’s observation that traditional arts are often enjoyed and staged in the neighbourhood. Co-created with Kiat and painted by residents who are regular park visitors, the community art pieces playfully depict traditional drums often sighted at these performances.

“For this piece, we drew on the inspiration of traditional artforms which were often enjoyed and staged in the neighbourhood by Bedok CC before the pandemic. Whilst waiting for public shows to be staged safely, the residents are taken on a journey of art discoveries. They got involved in creating artworks for their own residential surroundings, and are also introduced to the works of other artists, who are staging exciting traditional arts performances such as Nadi Singapura, SAtheCollective and Bhaskar's Art Academy. We hope these pieces create a sense of positivity and joy for the area.”
